Boot Camp
The diversity committee has partnered with the Yale Office of Graduate Student Development and Diversity (OGSDD) to hold an annual virtual “Psychology Bootcamp”, with the aim of demystifying a career in research psychology and what it entails. This event is geared towards trainees at all levels, from undergraduate to past-bacs, or those considering a late-stage career transition into academia. Current Yale Psychology graduate students and lecturers facilitate each session. Each hour is a separate session devoted to a specific topic, specifically:
-
Considering a career in research psychology, with panelists including Yale Psychology faculty and individuals who transitioned from to a non-academic career after receiving their PhD in Psychology
-
Getting research experience, including tips for how to build valuable research skills at various stages
-
Applying to graduate programs, with details about application materials required and how to identify potential advisors
Recordings and materials from previous Bootcamps can be found here.
